Ms caroline

Studio Manager

Caroline has taught Drama, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Tap, and You & Me classes at Blue Starz over the last few years, and is excited to put her administrative prowess to work as Studio Manager for another season! Caroline began dancing at the early age of three in her hometown of Greenville, South Carolina. After many years of classical and contemporary ballet training (including programs at North Carolina School of the Arts and American Ballet Theatre), her professional career began in 2007 when she joined the company of Carolina Ballet Theatre (CBT). After several seasons with CBT, Caroline went on to earn a B.A. in Non-Profit Arts Management from the College of Charleston while she continued to dance as a principal company member of The Charleston Dance Project. Hungry to pursue the performing arts on a larger scale, Caroline moved to New York, and later to Los Angeles to broaden her career opportunities. She has since had the pleasure of working with musical artists Lele Pons, Ayo Jay, Chris Porter, Raymix and Mark B and appeared on television segments including NBC's Red Nose Day Danceathon, Good Morning America, and The Dr. Oz Show. Caroline has also enjoyed exploring various other avenues including fitness (Tracy Anderson, modelFit, JetSweat Fitness), commercial acting, and of course - working with young performers and their families through Blue Starz!



Ms. shelly

Drama & Musical Theatre, Ballet & HipHop

Michelle (Shelly) trained as a dancer at the Royal Ballet School but her first professional job (playing Demeter in CATS) introduced her to the world of Musical Theatre. The next decade was spent in London's West End performing in the musicals Starlight Express, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Saturday Night Fever, The Lion King, La Cava, Fosse, Chicago, Beauty and the Beast and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. During that time Michelle was fortunate enough to work with some Musical Theatre legends including Ann Reinking, Rob Ashford and Stephen Sondheim. Alongside her theatre work, Michelle has danced for numerous recording artists including Pink, The Spice Girls, Robbie Williams and Boyzone. Michelle eventually decided to change direction and was offered a place at the prestigious Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where she retrained as an actress. Since graduating, she's appeared on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and Salisbury Playhouse before transitioning to film, voice over and television. Michelle's most memorable screen work to date is the recurring role of Lisa Torres in Doctors (BBC) and series regular Julia Richmond in Strike Back (HBO/Cinemax) for which she won an award. With a large voice over portfolio, Michelle's most notable performances have been Kelly-087 for the Halo franchise, and Professor Brindel for the Harry Potter franchise. Over the years Michelle has taught ballet, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, singing and drama and is happy to be back in the studio at Blue Starz sharing her experience with the next generation of performers.



Ms. porcia

Front Desk, Ballet & HipHop

Porcia Javonna Hendrix was born in the United Kingdom but raised in Las Vegas, NV. Porcia has been training since she was a young age in all styles of dance. She graduated from AMDA College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts in the Dance Theatre Conservatory Program in Hollywood. Porcia is currently signed with MSA Talent Agency continuing her career path training as a professional dancer. She has worked in a variety of music videos from dancing with Pharrell to singing in a choir with Carrie Underwood. She also has been in Beach Body Dance Fitness Series, "The Middle" tv show, and working with Disney's "Descendents 2" on Dancing with the Stars. Porcia recently danced for the WNBA LA SPARKS for 2 seasons performing in the Staples Center during the summertimes. Currently, for the past 3 years she has been dancing all around the world for YouTube American Indian artist named Vidya Vox. Porcia continues to expand her career in all directions and hopes to inspire others in everything that she does here in Los Angeles!




MS. Kayley

Ballet & HipHop, Ballet & Lyrical Jazz

Kayley began dancing at 4 years old in her hometown of Carpinteria, California. Training extensively in ballet, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip hop, pointe, tap, pom, and acrobatics, she has performed in numerous dance productions, competed at regional competitions, and performed internationally in Rome's New Year's Day Parade. With several years of teaching experience, Kayley is passionate about creating a positive environment where every dancer can grow with confidence! Kayley earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies with a Minor in Dance from California State University, Northridge. She trained under Professor Paula Thomson, performed at the prestigious Soraya Theatre, and continues her education through master classes with Ballet BC, Martha Graham artists, and Natalie Willes' Body-Mind-Ballet program, deepening her understanding of artistry, alignment, and mindful movement. Kayley believes dance is about more than learning steps… It’s about building confidence, creativity, discipline, and a lifelong love of movement and artistry! Her goal is for every student to leave class feeling proud, inspired, and excited to return each week. She is so excited to be a part of Blue Starz! 

 

Ms. Savanna

Ballet & HipHop

Savanna Scott was born and raised in LA and graduated from FIDM with a degree in visual communications. She has been dancing for 17 years and has not only danced professionally for gigs like HorrorCon LA but has been coaching cheer and dance at New Village Girls Academy for the past several years. She also taught ballet and tap at Le Petit Performing Arts Center. She has trained in hip hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet, and pom. She also has taught pom classes at the C Spot LA and is currently teaching them now at Crenshaw Yoga and Dance. She is also a part of LA Unbound Dance Company. She has taught all ages from mommy and me classes to coaching college students for the Los Angeles Valley College cheer and dance team. Whether it’s teaching, choreographing, or performing she loves to be involved in all that dance has to offer. She is so excited to be a part of the Blue Starz Team! 



Ms. Paige

Front Desk, You & Me, Ballet & HipHop

This Barbie is THRILLED to be joining the Blue Starz team! Hailing from the sun-soaked landscapes of Arizona, Paige recently graduated from California Institute of the Arts with a BFA in Acting and Creative Writing. Paige has a passion for sharing the arts with young creatives and has taught creative writing to middle schoolers and high schoolers through community outreach programs over the course of the last year. During that time, she has watched young minds translate their emotions into brushstrokes, stories, and movements which is a testament to the incredible power of the arts to heal, inspire, and transform lives - an experience that fuels her fervent dedication to mentorship and teaching. Now, as she joins the luminous constellation that is the Blue Starz team, Paige's heart resonates with gratitude! It’s sure to be an amazing season!


Ms. Lennon

Ballet & HipHop

Hi, I’m Lennon aka Ms. Lemon! I’m from Honolulu, HI and have been living here in LA for 8 years. I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old training and teaching for over 10 years in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary/modern, hip hop, and musical theatre. I have my BA in Dance and getting my masters in psychology to further my education and teaching within dance psychology. I’m also a certified early childhood educator and ADHD life coach. Wiggle wiggle! 


Ms. ASHLEY

You & Me, Ballet & HipHop, Ballet & Tap, Ballet & Lyrical Jazz, Drama & Musical Theatre

Ashley Alvarez is thrilled to bring her lifelong passion for dance, theater, and arts education to the Blue Starz family. Growing up, Ashley's mother owned a dance studio, so she experienced firsthand the incredible impact the arts can have on a child's confidence, creativity, and self-expression. Ashley went on to earn her BFA in Theater from Florida International University and has since built a career as a professional actress, appearing in television, film, commercials, and theater productions all across the country. Her recent credits include Law & Order and Search Party, and she's currently developing a feature film supported by the Sundance Institute. While she loves performing, Ashley finds her greatest joy in sharing her knowledge and experience with the next generation of artists and helping her students discover the magic of performing.


Ms. Avani

You & Me, Ballet & HipHop

Avani is an actor, singer, and dancer from San Francisco, California. She graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a BA in Theatre, and minor in Music with a voice concentration. She's trained in a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, tap, Bollywood, Bhangra, and North Indian classical dance. With her background in musical theatre and dance, Avani moved to Los Angeles to also pursue film and television. Alongside her career, she has over 10 years of experience in youth arts education, helping children find their voice through dance and storytelling. She loves being part of the Blue Starz family! <3


Ms. TAYLOR

You & Me

Taylor Morris is a performer, choreographer, and educator originally from South Carolina.She started dancing at the age of three and quickly entered the competitive dance world. After graduating high school, Taylor continued her education receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education with a K-12 certification from Coker University. To further pursue her dance training, Taylor then moved to NYC to attend Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester where she performed work by Therasa Stone. Taylor became faculty at Broadway Dance Center’s Children & Teen’s Center for three seasons working with students of all ages in all styles of dance. Most recently, Taylor performed on Good Morning America’s segment for the anniversary of the famous movie “Footloose”. She is now based in Los Angeles performing and training with HMG the company. Taylor is so excited to become a part of the Blue Starz family.


Ms. vivian

Ballet & HipHop, Ballet & Tap

Vivian has been dancing since the age of six and brings over 24 years of experience to Blue Starz. She has trained in a wide variety of dance styles, including International Latin, American Rhythm, Ballet, Jazz, Armenian folk dance, Hip-Hop and social dances such as Salsa and Bachata. Throughout her dance career, Vivian has performed with dance groups for over 15 years, participating in annual productions, performing alongside Armenian singers, entertaining wedding guests, and audiences on cruise ships. In addition to her performance background, Vivian has several years of teaching experience, including years of adult group classes/private lessons, and over 4 years working with children in a dance education setting. She has a passion for creating a positive, supportive, and fun environment where young dancers can build confidence, develop coordination, and discover their love for movement.
